Career Timeline

Zhang Lu began his career with the short film Eleven (2000), which was invited to the Venice International Film Festival. Beginning with his feature debut, Tang Poetry (2003), his films were all screened at major international festivals, including Grain in Ear (2005), which won the New Currents Award at the Busan International Film Festival, Desert Dream (2007), in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival, and the series Chongqing (2008) and Iri (2008). Dooman River (2009) received a Special Mention from the Generation 14Plus Youth Jury at Berlin. Zhang’s most recent films include Scenery (2013), Gyeongju (2014) and Love And… (2015). A Quiet Dream was the opening film of Busan International Film Festival in 2016.
